Pulpit Rock - Jan.2012

 

There are only three routes at Pulpit Rock: the amazing four star "Bellbird Wall" (18), where we met some unexpected visitors from interstate. "The Next Doctor" (***23) and the outrageous "Stone Poem" (27) varying between four and five stars. We went for the middle way three amazing pitches on The Next Doctor. A relatively new area the setting in the Grose Valley right opposite Mount Hay is spectacular, isolated and solitary.

Dave onsighted the relentless second crux pitch in style: steep, technical and exposed it pushed us hard. Right oppsite us was the Fortress and Mount Hay face withseveral excellent multi-pitch routes described in the 2010 Blue Mountains Guide.
