Half Century Man
Half a century worth of man
to die is surely not in his plan
rather to live and foreever explore
go where no man has ever gone before
live life to the fullest, and endlessly contest
what it means to be alive with the rest of the best
his dreams are certain, and his purpose is clear
to live to a full one hundredth year
yet length is not everthing he knows with regret
its the mad minute that demands a lot more respect
to sow your wild oats as long as you may
until he joins the legions of yesterday.
though one things for certain, he will never give up
until he has emptied his overflowing cup
the glass is always full, he must know for sure
its only a matter of time until we all demure
that urge for an ending where never one can be
is lives everlasting deep mystery
until at last the angels shall grace
for him to join yet one final race.
