Pootang Crag -Narrabeen Nov. 2017

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are trully free.

Pootang crag is an old crag and has remained unvisited since it was put up in what now seems like the dark ages of Sydney suburb rock climbing. It only had three desparate roof routes and that detracted many to visit this magic place. Recently a selection of new routes was added in 2017 to make an excellent sport climbing crag out of a lost area. The quality of rock is exellent and the cruxes are generally distinct and tough. It was also Cameron's first outdoor experience and together with Leo, Chris and Roman Junior we had a great time and will be back with more determination and courage. There is still the upper tier to explore....

Chris crus of Fist Full of Frankfurters

1. Fish Taco 19* wanders a little bit but has a nice balance me at the end.

2.Fist full of Frankfurters 20* great warm up with a couple of balance moves heigher up.

3. Pocket Rocket 16* another great warm-up with nice moves.

4. Snake Charmer 22* first part of the route until the roof is fantastic and can also be used as a nice warm-up. Crossing the roof and follwoing the crack up higher is a very tough crux for a 22.

5. Show us your hooters 22** easy start before the steepness begind. Hard sequence into an undercling gets you a rail of slopers - carefully choose your best hold and go for the crimp finish. Heelhook left and stab for the left crimper first, carefull place your foot and go for the right crimper match. the clip the anchor. A very tough finish and the slopers will make you weep with delight.

6. Fish Taco Direct 20* Only Leo managed this technical mantle move with the same finish as Fish Taco.
