Boxing Day 2021 we were desparate to escape the city's madness and after a previous flogging at Adult's Only cave, it was time to return and pick up the challenge again. A family outing in the bush was the perfect excuse to send some old projects and explore some new areas. When we arrived at the lookout there was nobody around which bode well and the entire walk was piecefull. The cave was empty and instead of the usual warmups we explored the nearby Rod's Ravine just around the corner for alternatives to the busy Little Rigger Wall. The quality of routes here is suprisingly good with excellent warmups:
Two Nil (20**) overall great warmup.
Red Sails (21**) quite hardish down low and then cruisy to the top.
Red Sails Direct (22**) this one is better as a warm down as it is quite intense. Short punchy moves through a roof mostly on jugs. Then thin technical face crux to anchor.
It was my second day working Way of all flesh while I was in shape with a minimum amount of injuries but the day belonged to the twins. Chris send the Direct start to Way of All Flesh (28***) after he completed the bouldery start and Roman dispensend of Booby Trap (30***) on his second shot after sticking all three dynos. Halfway you have to choose betwe 29 or 30 an interesting proposition. All in all a great day and the battle continues....... |
